Sinds 1989 verzamel ik Krijt-fossielen uit de omgeving van Maastricht. In 1993 ben ik lid geworden van de Nederlandse Geologische Vereniging, afdeling Limburg. Ook ben ik lid van de landelijke Nederlandse Geologische Vereniging, de Stichting Geologische Activiteiten (GEA), de GEA-kring Zuidoost Nederland en Kring Zwarte Woud Mineralen. Behalve fossielen verzamel ik namelijk ook micromount-mineralen uit voornamelijk de Eifel en de groeve Clara in Duitsland en Laurion in Griekenland.<\/p>\n<p>Ik richt mij op het verzamelen van fossielen uit het Campanien en Maastrichtien van Zuid-Limburg en Noordoost Belgi\u00eb. Hierbij heb ik geen specialisatie in een bepaalde diergroep, maar ik verzamel alle fossielen die wetenschappelijk interessant kunnen zijn, mijn collectie verder compleet maken of een goede kwaliteit hebben. Dit varieert van plantenresten, via \u00e9\u00e9ncellige dieren en een breed scala aan ongewervelde dieren tot resten van grote zeeschildpadden en Mosasauri\u00ebrs. Ik probeer zo veel mogelijk verschillende soorten fossielen uit de diverse groeves en kalksteenlagen te verzamelen. Een klein deel van mijn collectie heb ik enkele jaren geleden aan het Natuurhistorisch Museum Maastricht overgedragen.<\/p>\n<p>In het jaar 2000 heb ik meegewerkt aan \u2018Mosalab 2000\u2019, de preparatie van mosasaurus \u2018B\u00e8r\u2019. Tijdens \u2018CSI Mosasaurus\u2019 in 2013 heb ik meegeholpen met de preparatie van mosasaurus \u2018Carlo\u2019 die toen net was gevonden. Sinds 2016 ben ik een van de preparateurs van mosasaurus \u2018Lars\u2019. Ik heb geen biologie of geologie aan een universiteit gestudeerd &#8211; ik ben HTS-milieutechnoloog -, maar met het verzamelen en prepareren van fossielen sinds 1989 heb ik voldoende jaren ervaring om aan het prepareren mee te werken.
